Dozier School Complaint This is an open leter to Sec. Peterman and all of the tax paying citizens of the state of Florida. We are concerned parents of youth that have been in or are still in one of your detention centers or residential facilities. We have formed a networking group for the sake of our children, especialy our boys, whoe are in either JJOCC or Dozier School in Marianna. We have read all of the comments Sec. Peterman, is there truth to it? Some of our sons called today, and told us that 4 boys escaped from JJOCC this morning. We have not seen anything on the internet or news? Why is that? Does the poor people in Marianna know that escaped felons were on the loose for a period of time? If not why not? The public has a right to know. There was another escape from JJOCC in April. The youth escaped from a doctors appointment in Panama City. That was never in the paper was it? 5 escapes in month. What is going on at JJOCC and Dozier School? It appears as though the youth nor the staff are safe. What about the youth that continue to flood their rooms and tear down the sprinklers? What if there was a fire? We were also told that a youth at Dozier has a broken nose and out of fear, he won't tell who did it. Can the staff shed any light on this. What did the facility investigation report say? Who broke this youth's nose? What about the kid that was beat up over the weekend and had a bunch of knots on his head. He is afraid to push it because the admin. has told him not to say anything. about it because he is 18 and he can go to jail. Has anyone investigatd this? why or why not? What about the kids that were up in the roof for several hours? What were they doing? We were told that they were missing for hours on end. For the group that wants to know if kids are seperated, agressive v. non aggressive, absolutely not. All they see is an open bed and a kid is placed in it. Not long, that kid has turned aggressive too, just to survive. What about kids having their snack and some meals taken from them? What about the "buck" that was made by several kids due to taking stealin items from the dining hall; they were all high. The list goes on and on .Will Crisswell make sure that both facilities pass QA this year?We would like to know the answers and we are geting all of this information out to the citizens of the state of florida. Will you answer to the citizens Sec. Peterman?
