[Also, learn about Rebecca Falcon.] From: =?iso-8859-2?Q?Michal=20Hor=E1k?= <horkmich@seznam.cz>
Dear Cathy, I hope you remember my name and my mails about one year ago. Let me to inform you about the news in Courtney Schulhof?s case. First, I would like to emphasize that Courtney is a very active girl (or young woman, she is 21). She passed the course of the architectonical drafting and the course of creative writing. She wrote an autobiographic story that will be published in a collection of stories and poems written by inmates in July. She acts as teacher, she has her class of inmates and she teaches them the creative writing. She organized also a very successful presentation of creative writing; the warden appreciated it very highly. And the most important is that she finished the course of law, she is the certified law clerk now and she works in the prison law library. All their activities would be the reason for releasing after one half of the penalty in Europe, this means after 6 years in Czech Republic or after 7 years in Germany. Mr. Stefan Scheytt, journalist from Germany, visited Courtney and Rebecca Falcon in Lowell in April 2008. He wrote several articles that were published in Germany and Swiss magazines and journals in winter and spring 2009; the internet issues are: Focus Magazin (Germany) K?r Stadt-Anzeiger Magazin am Wochenende (Germany) http://www.ksta.de/html/artikel/1235929863102.shtml Badische Zeitung Magazin (Germany) Annabelle Magazin (Switzerland) http://www.annabelle.ch/gesellschaft-people/reportagen/?newsid=5292 Der Tagesspiegel (Germany) http://www.tagesspiegel.de/zeitung/Sonntag-Sonntag-Gefaengnis-Jugendliche-USA;art2566,2781669 Photos: http://www.laif.de/de/article/23870.html?viewtype=list&batch=0 I enclose the pdf file with the Badische Zeitung Magazin for demonstration ? the story was published on the first pages of the news and magazines. It?s not possible to publish this pdf file at Internet because of copyright. I enclose also the English translation. The public response in European Germany speaking country was large. Germany TV channel RTL (the fourth largest TV channel in Germany with terrestrial and satellite broadcasting) asked Courtney to give an interview. The interview was transmitted on Thursday May 7 in the main evening news, first a short trailer at the beginning of the news, a bit later the whole interview. The video with the news is at RTL Television (Germany) http://rtl-now.rtl.de/aktuell.php?film_id=12267&player=1&na=1 [See German TV Channels above.] Another Germany TV channel, ZDF, that broadcasts also from New York and Washington, prepares also an interview with Courtney. Courtney has her profile on Facebook, it is very interesting: http://www.facebook.com/srch.php?nm=Courtney+Schulhoff After the articles had been published, about fifty men and women in Germany looked for more information and found the documents about Courtney and Rebecca at the website of Justice4Kids. In my opinion, it would be useful now to actualize the documents. I enclose two pdf files, it is in fact continuation of my first report View over the Ocean, that were written in spring 2008 and now in May 2009. Please, if you agree, publish both files at the Courtney?s website. It is evident that the website of Justice4kids plays a very positive role as a source of information that can attract attention of people to these cases. Thank you very much.
