JARF, Juvenile Addiction Receiving Facility: Pinellas and Pasco Counties' centralized receiving facility for impaired youth. JARF is a service of PAR and is located at

Who is Eligible: The JARF is open to youth under the age of 18 with substance abuse issues. The JARF is not a Baker Act receiving facility.

Length of Stay: Length of stay is usually 3-5 days. Clients may stay longer if they are court ordered to remain at this facility.

Methods of Admissions

bulletLaw Enforcement: An officer may admit a youth who is impaired or under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
bulletCourt Order: The parent or guardian may file a petition (Marchman Act) for a court-ordered substance abuse assessment
bulletPhysician's Certificate: A physician may order involuntary stabilization and assessment.
bulletInvoluntary: The parent or guardian may admit the youth involuntarily to this facility.
bulletVoluntary: An adolescent [person under the age of 18 years] may admit him/herself, but must be discharged to a responsible adult.
