Incidents that must be reported
to the IG include:

Incidents of
juvenile on juvenile sexual assault;

Incidents of
physical attacks by juveniles on staff on DJJ/provider premises;

New Capital
felonies by detention status juveniles;

Felony
violations by DJJ/provider staff;

New felony
violations by detention status juveniles;
-
Abuse
allegations accepted by Abuse Registry where outside medical required; and
Misdemeanor law violations by DJJ/provider staff.
At the Pinellas JDC for
the last fiscal year (7/1/01-6/30/02), youth incurred 8 new felony charges
for battery on staff. There are 23 other JDC's throughout Florida where
these charges also occur. Hundreds of placement facilities also exist where
similar charges occur. top
